Working in listed environments requires an understanding of both the building restrictions imposed and the client’s use of space and lifestyle. Bespoke pieces mixed with antiques, contemporary art and the client’s own collections makes a ‘home a home’.
Creating a client’s entire house is a privilege and requires an understanding of the client’s lifestyle and how it will change in 5 to 10 years. The design process often starts with an art collection, library or new family members and the journey evolves from there.
This was a fantastic collaboration between CWA and furniture master, Tim Gosling. What a gentleman he is with great style and a wonderful sketching hand. I visited his London studio and mentioned to him my desire to explore a modern peacock room. I made the cabinet and he fitted the interior with peacock colored straw marquetry and lacquer- touches of gold along the leading edge of the glass. It’s a thrill to open this cabinet to find a jewel of an interior. You then celebrate in your delight with a cocktail. Cheers Tim!
