Designer @designboysey is passionate about cars, so it’s no surprise he’s created bespoke boxes to store registration & history documents. Phil uses marquetry to represent the head of the engine & wheels.
I promised I would show you the amazing straw work that was born in Mont St Michel and was developed by a genius french designer called Jean- Michel Frank (1895 -1941) in the 1930’s .
It spurred a remarkable industry of creativity with this straw Marquetry technique and after seeing some of the re- editions at Hermes by Frank I started using it in some of my designs too .
It’s really difficult to show you the true beauty of it as it’s so iridescent ( and photography stills don’t do it justice!) , the straw is opened up and laid flat and the colour takes to the straw slightly differently with each blade which gives it the most wonderful array of colouring even within one colour dye . It then shimmers like a butterfly as you walk around the piece…

A klismos chair is a type of Ancient Greek chair with a curved backrest & out curved legs. In London, early klismos chairs were designed by Thomas Hope. @timjgosling talks us through it. See Gosling’s interpretation -The Lord Leighton Klismos Chair- link in bio.
This wonderful commission is created by flat paintwork on glass, which gives a delicate three dimensional impression, enhanced by the ceramic flowers, held in place using tiny drill holes. Place in front of a mirror to create a magical cacophony of flowers for a dining room.
Where’s Wally? In Monaco our wonderful Gosling designer, @photisphoti couldn’t resist capturing the sleek lines of the Wally Why200. It has a stunning vertical axe bow hull with wrap around main deck dark glass. Complemented by the fabulous curved teak beach club rear. Wow. @wallyyachts_official #wallywhy200 #why200 @monacoyachtshow_official
