Bespoke furniture and interior designer Tim Gosling is passionate about craftsmanship, and he is also passionate about the language and stories told by historical homes and their connections.

For the past year Tim has had the word ‘Aquitania’ in his auction alerts on @the_saleroom. Which may sound unusual until you discover that the ocean liner had an identical staircase to the one in the chateau he is restoring in France (check it out at @restorationchateau).

In an extraordinary combination of good fortune and canny antique hunting he discovered this magnificent model of the RMS Aquitania at auction on @the_saleroom a few weeks ago, and now has plans for its permanent residency at the chateau.
