Tim founded Gosling in 2005 after 18 years as a director at Linley. Tim is passionate about design and craftsmanship and has carved out an international reputation for exquisite bespoke furniture and interiors.
Tim picked up a pencil at a very early age and his ability to sketch the thought process gives clients a unique and immediate visual sense of proportion and scale.
Tim has an impressive portfolio of worldwide furniture and interior commissions, including the Jaeger-LeCoultre flagship London store, The Goring Hotel, The Berkeley Hotel, BP Headquarters in London, the Oriana cruise ship and many of the finest private homes and superyachts in the world.
Tim lives in an elegant London townhouse surrounded by private collections of exquisite ephemera. He is passionate about preserving the language of furniture design and the skills of British craftsmen and lectures regularly around the world. A skilled artist and draftsman, Tim has held drawing master classes in London, Shanghai, New York and Moscow. In 2015 Thames & Hudson published his third book, the highly acclaimed, Classic Contemporary – the DNA of Furniture Design.
Photis joined the Gosling Team in 2007 to become a valuable member of the design team. He spent ten years working for Linley as Design Manager, responsible for producing designs for bespoke furniture commissions, and managing a busy design studio.
Previously he worked for a traditional upholstery furniture manufacturer in East London, gaining invaluable experience in translating designs from drawing board through to mass manufacture. Photis graduated from the University of Plymouth, Faculty of Art & Design in Exeter, leaving with a BA (Hons.) degree in 3-Dimensional Design.
At Gosling, Jean Gomm is instrumental in the short and long term strategic development of the company, creating the financial blueprint that enables the company to anchor and expand Tim’s creative vision. After achieving her MBA at Cranfield University and Harvard School of Business, Jean studied at the Sorbonne University.
She has worked for a number of major private, governmental and international organisations, directing policy on economic, social and managerial issues at the highest level. She has also had extensive experience in arts related and creative industries, finance, business management systems, business strategy, communications and public relations.
John studied at Rycotewood College, Oxfordshire, achieving a degree in Design and Furniture Making with distinction. John set up his own business, which he ran successfully for 17 years making bespoke furniture for interior designers and directly for clients. In 2000 John went to work for Linley where he worked for 13 years as Production Director.
John continued to expand his expertise by joining Davidson Furniture, where he worked as the Production Director for two and half years. In February 2016 John joined Gosling as Operations Director.
Annoushka studied Interior and Concept Design at the Ecole Supérieure de Design in Troyes, France where she graduated with honours.
Driven by a love of interior design, historic buildings, and antiques, she enjoys creating and reimagining the spaces we live and work in.
Thanks to her multicultural background Annoushka has a resourceful understanding of the importance of our surroundings and how personal each project is. Her passion for creating the perfect environment means she will move heaven and earth to find the latest trends and hidden gems that suits the clients’ overall vision. Over the past ten years she has worked on a vast range of high-profile projects and has been responsible for delivering many incredible interiors in a range of settings, from listed buildings to high end residential projects.
Zoe graduated with a first-class degree in Product Design, with professional experience in FMCG product and packaging design. She then spent several years working with a luxury bespoke furniture manufacturer, developing design concepts into manufacturing drawings.
She is passionate about understanding her clients’ needs to design the most beautiful and usable products and spaces. She is insatiably curious and believes that the trait makes for great designs and an exciting life.
Sam has worked in the creative industry all her life, from organising the look of trade fairs and exhibitions to working in interior design, learning her trade through practical experience. Sam particularly enjoys sourcing antiques for our clients and for Tim’s property in France.
In her spare time Sam is learning Spanish, enjoys yoga, theatre, the mountains, rummaging through auction houses and long walks in the country. She also sings in a band for fun.
Lucinda is a PR and marketing expert with over 11 years of collaboration with the Gosling team, bringing her expertise across diverse industries, such as film production, startups and the charitable sector.
Her passion lies in creating innovative marketing campaigns for Tim and the Gosling team and engaging 'design gurus' to take part in the Gosling blog. Based in Gloucestershire, Lucinda balances her professional life with her love for hiking and travel, exploring some of the most remote corners of the world. Two months each year she works for Gosling from India, where she manages the UK charity, OSCAR International.
