The palette of colours is inspired by Tim’s personal project, the restoration of a magnificent chateau in Normandy. Built in 1820 the chateau has 57 rooms, 22 ensuite bathrooms and 8 staterooms nestling in 27 acres of stunning parkland.

Delving into the history of this neglected building and the lives of former residents Tim has unearthed significant historical moments of bygone days. Tim’s fascination with architecture, interiors, furniture and craftsmanship has provided a unique canvas to design a paint collection rooted in the past but with a contemporary twist for a sustainable future.

“Creating this historic colour range with Graphenstone has been a delightful journey. The opportunity to produce a paint collection using environmentally friendly, certified and healthy natural products is a dream come true.”

Tim Gosling

With colours ranging from a strong French Trellis Green, first used over 200 years ago for a French garden, to the demure, Traditional Bayeux Lace inspired by the famous bobbing lace made in the region in the 19th Century and for the bold and the brave, Commanderie Red, a vibrant perfect tone for a dining room or library.

“Tim’s huge enthusiasm for colour created lots of positive energy in the selection and refining of these glorious colours, which resonate with so much history.  It’s been a pleasure to work on them together and achieve such a stunning range. Gosling & Graphenstone also share a strong belief in using harm-free, natural materials. This minimises our ecological footprint and offers a far healthier paint in the home or office, compared to toxic modern-day plastic paints. We’re very proud of this gorgeous range collaboration with Tim.”

Patrick Folkes, Director Graphenstone UK
